Happy new month Ranterholics. Today I will like to talk about the most popular set of social media warriors and these are the Keyboard warriors aka Awon Roman Reigns behind the keyboard. These are the people that believe that since they have the protection of their mobile phone, tablet or computer screen they can sit back and type whatsoever they want to anyone.
These keyboard warriors are are of various types and operate with various methods and techniques.
The first type are those that have no other job than to jump from one post to another just to drop hateful and mean comments. Most times these people are just pained when they see someone doing well and are just not happy about it, then they go behind their keyboard to type really silly things. Such energy could have been directed towards more productive things in my opinion.
Another set of keyboard warriors are those that can't air their opinions without insulting people. They believe the they are Ominiknowest and whenever someone expresses a contrary belief they go all out on the person even to the extent of name calling. I really don't understand why anyone will decide to go through the stress of fighting someone you don't even know. These type of people can't have a descent conversation without being violent and insulting, Nawa o.
Another popular set of social media warriors are the "if I was the one geng". These set of keyboard warriors usually gather on posts that explains the problem someone passed through or is passing through. You get comments like this from them "it can never be me, I can't take such, she is too calm I trust myself, I know what I would have done in that situation........" Sister abeg calm down, we all know that you would have done nothing assuming you were the one in that situation.
The annoying thing is that people like this don't ever sit down to reason why people act in a certain way when they find themselves in a situation or why others are even too shocked to react at all.
The Anonymous App has been trending for a while now and if you are hearing about it for the first time it is basically an app that gives people the avenue to send anonymous messages to people. Whenever I see what people type to others through that app ehn I become seriously weak. It amazes me how people can type some really bad things about someone or to someone just become their anonymity is guaranteed. Isn't this an act of cowardice?
Despite the fact that social media has given us the "freewill" to express ourselves, we should do so responsibly. Even if you want to criticize something there are constructive and proper ways to do so without sounding hateful. You never know what effect that hateful comment you just posted will have on that person. And if you have been a victim of hateful comments remember that such unsolicited opinions shouldn't bother you.
Lastly let's not judge anyone because you can never be 100% sure of how you will react if you find yourself in a similar situation. Let's preach love and peace even through social media.
Feel free to share your thoughts too....... Kisses
