I said what I said :Part 1

I was triggered to write this post after watching a couple of videos on YouTube a few days ago. The videos were directed towards exposing celebrities who project a different image of themselves on social media as against the reality of their lives. Even though social media has been a source of blessings in so many ways and is even a source of income to some people we can't help but ignore the problems this social world has plunged the real world into. I will like to start off by highlighting some ways I believe social media has served as a blessing to Mankind.

We all know that social media has provided us with a digital market that has made life easier for a lot of people. Aside from making buying easier for customers, this digital market has also been a source of income for influencers who use their social media following to influence the decision of the general public towards a product or products. It has also been a source of income for brands who sell a lot of their products based on their social media presence.

Another aspect that social media has been a blessing is on the issue of empowerment with WhatsApp and Facebook being the leading platforms. So many trainings have taken place through these social media platforms that has greatly and positively impacted lives. Some people are even married now and have wonderful homes as a result of social media. I have also seen groups and forums on social media dedicated to helping people solve their problems even by providing financial aids and this is wonderful.
However, despite these and so many other ways social media has positively impacted lives, there are still a bundle of reasons why it is a source of problem to the world.  Social media is a world of it own and just like in reality there are honest people that are concerned with making the world better through their various platforms. While this is true, some are on the mission to cause chaos and raise damaging unrealistic standards which is gradually turning into a norm.

One of the ways social media has been causing problems is on the issue of flaunting of wealth or in some cases AUDIO wealth, lol. I'm not saying flaunting of assets is a sin or what have you, just as long as you are comfortable doing it and  you are guaranteed good security, then paro lo my brother. But please if you know that the wealth is audio or you acquired them through illegitimate means then you can do the world a favor by keeping these things to yourself instead of misleading innocent people. Abi shey i talk well people???
These show of wealth from different quarters has resulted into serious cases of depression and even suicide. Some people based on what they see on social media believe that their life is moving at a slow pace or they are not making progress at all. This wealth showcasing has made some people turn to illegitimate and illegal means just to also accumulate riches, what a shame. What these people fail to realize is that some of those people in the habit of always flaunting wealth are living fake lives and alas some have been exposed. Some of those celebs you see flaunting expensive things are paying instalmentally, do not be fooled.
