Wetin COVID-19 lockdown no go see for this our Naija sef!!!
About a week ago the Nigerian Federal government finally released the conditions to be fulfilled before you can be enlisted among the beneficiaries of the Federal government conditional cash transfer scheme. This scheme is meant for those with 5000 Naira or less in their bank accounts and a functional BVN. This condition to me is not only absurd but irritating as well.
First, the fact that the distribution of this funds will be to people's bank account alone is unfair. This is because there are still citizens of this country without bank account and some with bank accounts don't have functioning ATM cards and with banks also on lockdown they won't have access to the money, so what exactly is the point then. It has been suggested that instead of sharing this money through this unfavorable bank account means, a company like the electricity distribution company in Nigeria can be given the contract of household distribution of this funds. Well it sounds comical but this could actually work much better than the bank account system. Abi wetin una feel?
The problem with this condition is not only tied to the means of distribution alone but also to the actual condition. How can a federal government see having above an account balance of 5000 a sign of good living, how many days of feeding can 5000 Naira actually cover for an household. So like that like that now if I have about 5500 in my account the government considers me a big girl living the life of a baller abi, Nigeria who did this to you !!!
With the yeye condition announced by the government scammers have decided to step up their game in order to fully maximize and utilize the situation to their advantage. Please and please do not fall a victim to these scammers. Dangote is not sharing free money and he doesn't need your personal details, no telecommunication company is giving free data (P.S those people stingy die), Netflix is not doing doing any COVID-19 lockdown bonanza, abeg shine your eyes Boys are not smiling o.
Despite the lockdown and the constant preaching from different quarters about maintaining social distance amid this pandemic some people still see this as an opportunity to perfect their Messi and Ronaldo skills by turning the streets into their training pitch. I'm sure that this people realize that football all over the world is currently on hold as the sport is not social distancing friendly at all yet this people are still keen on becoming overnight Messi's.
Among the people that have refused to respect this lockdown policy and social distancing directives are the strollers, the street drinkers and the party goers. I know that the lockdown hasn't been convenient for a lot of people however it's better safe than sorry.
How can I forget the people that came together to turn the main roads into their gymnasium, they said that they are the fitness enthusiasts of Nigeria, orisirisi. When Baba Lai said that "until we behave ourselves" we were attacking the baba but seriously some people are not just doing well at all. By the time Coro hits someone I hope the enthusiasm is enough to send Coro packing. Abeg na joke o, lol.
Notwithstanding, the lockdown has also launched the inner philanthropism in some individuals as we have been seeing legit food, airtime and money giveaways. Even though some people are trying to frustrate us with audio shikini money some individuals are coming through. Shout_out to you guys joor, you are really doing well. Remember stay home stay safe.
